Do you experience headaches ? Headaches stop you from being a part of your life  . They can stop you from working effectively and interfere with weekend and holiday adventures . Tension, migraine, sinus, menstrual, the list is endless.

A headache is pain or discomfort in the head, scalp, or neck. Serious causes of headaches are extremely rare. Most people with headaches can feel much better by devising lifestyle changes, learning ways to relax, and now and again by taking medications.

Some of the more common headaches expected caused by tight, contracted muscles in your shoulders, neck, scalp, and jaw. These are called tension headaches. They are often related to to stress, depression, or anxiety. Overworking , not getting fair to middling sleep, skipping meals , and using alcohol or street drugs can make you more susceptible to them. Some other headaches triggers can include by chocolate, cheese, and monosodium glutamate (MSG). People who drink caffeine can have headaches when they don’t get their usual daily amount.

A list of common causes of headaches are allergy, emotional stress, eye strain, high blood pressure, a hangover, infection, low blood sugar, nutritional deficiency, tension, and the presence of poisons and toxins in the body.

There are diverse ways recommended to prevent and treat minor headaches as follows:

- Leading a healthy lifestyle and getting enough sleep .

- If you are not working or can take a short break, get inside and lie down. If at home, seek darkness and stay there awhile . For some people, in darkness, you will feel the headache lift almost immediately.

- If you tend to experience headaches at night , shut all of the lights possible. The darker the better. Lights, especially very bright or fluorescent ones, tend to trigger migraine headaches.

- If the headache you’re having is a result of stale air, see if you can take a quick walk around. Sometimes, fresh air is all you need for this type of headache.

- It may sound silly , but coffee and certain foods or other drinks with caffeine may actually assist you with a headache. It has been proved. So, go ahead and put on that pot if you must, or drink a can of soda. Chocolate is another option, and you could relish yourself while aiding your headache.

- For those of you, who know how, meditate away. This is a very easy and natural way of ridding yourself of tension.The results is slow, but effective for some.

- If you know of any, try the natural oils that specifically aid headaches (this may include mint, eucalptus, or rosemary).

- Massage is a great strategy for healing any mental or physical pain. You can do this with or without a partner. Find your temples and gently massage them with the pads of your fingers. If you desire, use some oil or menthol on your fingers. Gently stroke your own hair and pat your head. You’d be surprised at how a little TLC can work wonders !

- If you are the music type , try listening to very light, soft and calming music, especially, music that pertains to the senses.  The focus on the music will lift the tension almost right away.

For those still experiencing headaches , medication or a good pain reliever is another recommended solution . The best thing to do is to opt a pain reliever especially for headaches or the “type” of headache you’re having.

Fioricet is often prescribed by doctors to treat tension headaches. Fioricet or butalbital APAP is a barbiturate sedative integrated with a non-aspirin pain medication and caffeine. This non-narcotic pain medication and relaxant is often prescribed for tension headaches caused by contractions of the muscles in the neck and shoulder area, and migraine. Fioricet comes as a capsule and tablet that should be taken every 4 hours as needed. It is not recommended that the product be taken repeatedly or beyond the allotted period because of the possible negative effect.
